Hi! I’m Lewis, a Microsoft Business Applications MVP and Power Platform Customer Success Architect at ANS Group.. Thanks for stopping by at my blog, here’s a little bit about me and what I do. If you’d like to get in touch for a chat, feel free to connect with me via social channels!
I've been in the Microsoft space for a while now, starting as a Sixth Form student collaborating with my school's wider trust to build 10+ solutions for faculty operations and classroom productivity. With the numerous opportunities I've encountered since in the workplace and community, I now work with enterprise / s500 Power Platform customers, focusing on their implementations and enabling their organisations with low-code tools. My team and I collaborate with enterprise low-code customers from various industries on different use cases, from custom sales processes to Customer Service implementations, operational process automation, and enabling organizations to succeed with low-code in a safe environment with the appropriate and relevant guardrails.
I'm also active in the Microsoft community, focusing on Copilot for Microsoft 365 and Power Platform technologies, I run the Bletchley Park AI Microsoft User Group, and write regularly on my blog lewisdoes.dev. I also enjoy speaking at community conferences and on online webcasts.
You can keep reading below to hear more about my journey in greater detail, or ask Copilot in Edge to summarise. 😉
My Journey
So, my journey with low-code started through becoming a Microsoft 365 Administrator for my swimming club during lockdown between not doing my GCSE’s anymore, and becoming an A-Level student in September. I then went back to my studies in September and shortly after discovered an opportunity to volunteer, and work with my schools trust building a number of Power Platform solutions for faculty operations and classroom productivity, which I taught myself to do, with the support of the #Community.
Since leaving my Sixth Form college, I have worked at a couple Microsoft Partners / Consultancies and am currently working at ANS Group where I am a Power Platform Customer Success Architect working with our larger enterprise customers to deliver both Power Platform solutions for a number of different industry use cases, whilst also working with organisations to enable them to be successful with low-code tools in a safe environment with the appropriate and relevant guardrails.
You can check out a bit more about my work in my Sixth Form below where myself and Microsoft Chief Troublemaker of all things Copilot Extensibilty, Dona Sarkar, discussed one of the solutions I built to solve classroom emergency situations using Low Code.
Community
Alongside this blog, I do a number of additional things in the Microsoft community which I’d like to share with you here! Check out some of these below, and be sure to let me know if you have any questions in the comments of this page, or via a chat if you’d prefer.
Conference Speaking
Microsoft Ignite 2022 – Why shift to a unified cloud ecosystem
One of my best conference speaking experiences so far has to be the opportunity I had to speak at Microsoft Ignite 2022 in Manchester for the UK spotlight. I joined Microsoft MVPs, Chris Huntingford, Charlie Phipps and Pieter Veenstra to discuss why we should, or perhaps shouldn’t shift to a unified cloud ecosystem. This was a fantastic talk and a great experience for my first Microsoft hosted event.
One of the fantastic conferences I’ve had the pleasure to speak at is the London Automation Summit where I discussed how we can start to build with Low Code differently when we take contextual data into account, provided by Microsoft Graph, which sits in the surrounding Microsoft Cloud. We finished this session with the solution of a meeting room door overview app to display events in a meeting room on the current day.
